Radiant Black gets an animated short starring Will Friedle (Batman Beyond)

Well aware of the popularity of the “Massive-verse” universe of Kyle Higgins inaugurated with Radiant Black (and which has spun off into multiple spin-offs since), Image Comics continues to promote it by multiplying projects to introduce it to media other than paper. Today, we are discovering a nice animated short film, which also has the merit of bringing together the universe of Radiant Black with another creation by Kyle Higgins, COWL.

Crossover and fan service

Tiger Animation and Black Market Narrative have taken it upon themselves to make a new video called “versus”, which, as its name suggests, pits fictional characters against each other, with a special episode for Radiant Black. The studio was already busy making trailers for this universe, but also for Kyle Higgins’ COWL series (published by Urban Comics in France), and it is therefore quite natural that the two “licenses” intersect in this short film. One way to place the two titles in the same continuity, since COWL takes place at the end of the Second World War, when several heroes (including Blaze, present here), join together to form the first superhero union.

The short film Versus: Blaze vs. Radiant Black is directed by Kyle Higgins, with artistic supervision by Marcelo Costra – the creative comics team – and even has the luxury of having Will Friedle, famous Terry McGinnis of the Batman Beyond animated series. Enough to make a pretty effective introduction to this universe, which you can also discover in VF with a first volume just released by Delcourt editions. We let you admire below.
