The Approach, new horror series from Boom! Studios from the creators of The Beauty

It’s a well-established mechanism: when the solicitations for the month of October are to be announced, we realize that all the publishers are betting on the thematic proximity of Halloween to publish more or less horrific titles – which is necessarily easier for independent publishing houses. Boom! Studios, for example, is already well versed in the exercise, and will therefore be offering a horror title this fall by a creative team that has already proven itself in the register.

Are you afraid of flying?

It is indeed in October 2022 that the publisher Boom! Studios will offer The Approach, a new horror title imagined by screenwriters Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley (who have both co-created the track The Beautywhose publication in France by Glénat is unfortunately incomplete, whereas it was an exciting comic book) and the artist Jesus Hervas (The Empty Man, Penny Dreadful: a regular in horror stories, in short) .

The Approach takes us alongside Mac and Abigail, two airport employees who find themselves caught in a snowstorm. The two then witness the crash of a plane, and while going to recover a survivor from the rubble, they realize that the plane in question had been missing for twenty-seven years. Height of horror, people stuck in the airport are starting to be confronted with what the plane has been transporting all this time… A pitch that seems to be eyeing very clearly on the side of The Thing both for the snowy atmosphere and this big creature story that Hervas talks about in the press release.
