The Boys season 4: Eric Kripke (again) in discussions to bring Jeffrey Dean Morgan back to the series

While it has just broadcast its famous episode “Herogasm” (necessarily miles away from what comics have been able to do on this subject), the series The Boys is already preparing for the future. Indeed, in addition to spin off The Boys Presents: Varsity Set in College the fourth season has already been officially ordered. With in perspective, the desire for his showrunner to bring back another great figure from the small and big screen comic book adaptations.

Negan in The Boys?

It is indeed very recently that Eric Kripke, who is in charge of piloting The Boys for Prime Video, an adaptation of the comics of the same name by Garth Ennis and (among others) Darick Robertson, who explained in an interview that he wanted to bring the actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the series’ fourth season. The talks are still in the very early stages, so there’s no good news to report at this time other than that talks are ongoing, as Kripke explains.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a superfan of The Boys, and we’re in talks. We are trying to find something for the fourth season. There’s nothing finalized yet, but we’re calling and writing to see if there’s anything he can do despite his busy schedule. So, stay tuned on that.

The news should surprise no one: Eric Kripke has already tried to bring the actor back to The Boys, discussions unfinished that took place for season 3. Widely recognized for his role as Negan in the comic book adaptation of The Walking Dead, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is also a longtime collaborator of Kripke, having played the role of Father Winchester in the Supernatural series, the previous creation of the showrunner. We can see that the interested party likes to go and draw with his friends from his other collaborations, as evidenced by the presence of Jensen Ackles (who played one of the two Winchester brothers in Supernatural) in the third season of The Boys.

We bet that this year, the exchanges between Kripke and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will lead to a fruitful collaboration this time. If The Boys already enjoys great success in the world of comic book adaptations, there is no doubt that the arrival of such an actor could still add to the hype surrounding. The third season still has two episodes to show us, at the time of publication of this article, on Prime Video.
