The one-shot Batman One Bad Day: The Riddler by Tom King and Mitch Gerads unveils its first boards
In 1988, Alan Moore and Brian Bolland introduced the idea that it could only take one (very) bad day to tip a simple unlucky man into the form of the most monstrous of psychopaths, the Joker. Many years after The Killing Joke, DC Comics continues this legacy and this maxim with a series of one shots titled “Batman One Bad Day” which will confront the greatest enemies of Batman (and the latter as well) with a bad day. What to tip this beautiful world into madness?
The Mister Miracle team is back again
Prior to the publication of each of these one shots starting this summer, DC Comics is beginning to lift the veil on some of these publications, starting with the Batman One Bad Day: The Riddler which will once again find Tom King in the company of Mitch Gerads. The creative team has already been able to offer very good moments of comics with Sheriff Of Babylon, Mister Miracle and Strange Adventures, and does not seem ready to stop their collaboration.
The first boards unveiled allow you to rediscover the very particular style of Gerads, in a colorimetric atmosphere that honors the green that the Riddler likes to wear. We find the latter on surveillance cameras, but also being roughly interrogated by Batman. Also on the program, an execution with the help of a shark, a funeral attended by Bruce Wayne… in short, you will have understood it, the time will not be for fun – and that is what expected from King and Gerads.
Batman One Bad Day: The Riddler #1 will be released on August 16, 2022.
