This series that should appeal to fans of “Stranger Things” and “Game of Thrones”

Nostalgic for the end of your favorite series? Here is an unexpected and at the same time so obvious duo that should delight fans of the small screen. David Harbour, known for his role as Jim Hopper in “Stranger Things”, and Pedro Pascal, who appears in a season of “Game of Thrones” (and plays the role of Javier Pena in “Narcos”), will star together in a HBO miniseries, “Deadline” advance. They will also be the executive producers.

The series entitled “My Dentist’s Murder Trial” is adapted from the article “My Dentist’s Murder Trial: Adultery, False Identities, and a Lethal Sedation”, published in 2017 in the “New Yorker”. It tells the true story of the 2018 trial of Gilberto Nunez, a dentist on trial for the murder of his friend Thomas Kolman. He is accused of having made him swallow a substance at the origin of his death, three years earlier.

This first would have acted out of jealousy while he was having an affair with the wife of his friend. The dentist was eventually found not guilty of the murder. Pedro Pascal will play the dentist. Without confirmation from the production of the series, “Deadline” assumes that David Harbor will be his friend.

Other projects to come

This project in development does not yet have a shooting date and even less a release date. By then, the two actors are announced in the credits of several films and series. Seen in 2021 in “Black Widow” alongside Scarlett Johansson, David Harbor has just won a record with the “Stranger Things” team. Season 4 of the series broadcast on Netflix has become the second on the platform – after “Squid Game” – to exceed a thousand hours of viewing.

Lily Allen’s husband will play Santa Claus in “Violent Night”, an action comedy, which will be released in the United States in December 2022.

The Chilli-American actor already has another project with HBO since he is expected in “The Last of Us”, a series adapted from the video game of the same name. In 2023, he will also resume his main role in season 3 of “The Mandalorian”, the show from the Star Wars universe launched in 2019 and broadcast on Disney +.
